About The Position

This position performs all manner of commercial janitorial operations. The job involves cleaning floors, bathrooms, offices, hallways, locker rooms, break rooms, shower rooms, holding cells, and other assigned areas using various methods such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, buffing, and polishing with specialized equipment. Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, performing dusting, vacuuming, disinfecting, spot cleaning, trash removal, polishing metal fixtures, organizing and replenishing site supplies, emptying and decontaminating trash containers, and disposing of infectious waste when assigned. The role also requires cleaning vents, mixing cleaning solutions, washing blinds, windows, screens, sills, and walls, sweeping sidewalks and porches, laundering cleaning materials, picking up trash and debris, and identifying and reporting safety hazards. Adherence to company safety and risk management policies, including wearing personal safety equipment, is mandatory. The position also requires compliance with Operations Security (OPSEC) standard operating procedures, the Property Control Plan for Government Furnished Property (GFP), and safety and health programs that comply with EM 385-1-1 and applicable OSHA, DOD, Armed Forces Branch(s), Federal, state, and local safety, environmental, and health requirements. Maintaining a site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP) is also a requirement. Other tasks may be assigned by the Project Manager/Supervisor.

  • 1-year relevant work experience within a commercial janitorial environment.

  • Focused with a drive to succeed.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle both internal and external conflicts.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans floors, bathrooms, offices, hallways, locker rooms, break rooms, shower rooms, holding cells, surfaces and other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, buffing and polishing by using specialized equipment.
  • Inspects all equipment for proper operations prior to using.
  • Performs high and low dusting, vacuuming, disinfecting, spot cleaning, and trash removal as needed.
  • Polishes metal fixtures and trimmings.
  • Helps organize site supplies by replenishing supplies as needed.
  • Empties and decontaminates trash containers.
  • Disposes of infectious waste when assigned.
  • Cleans vents in every office.
  • Mixes or blends routine cleaning solutions to proper concentration as necessary for various tasks.
  • Washes blinds, windows, screens, sills and walls with prescribed solutions.
  • Sweeps sidewalks, porches and tiled surfaces.
  • Launders rags, mops, etc. from sites.
  • Picks up trash, chips, and paper around buildings.
  • Identifies, and reports any potential safety hazards to Supervisor.
  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
  • Adheres to Operations Security (OPSEC) standard operations procedures.
  • Adheres to Property Control Plan for management of Government Furnished Property (GFP).
  • Adheres to the safety and health program that complies with EM 385-1-1 and applicable OSHA, DOD, Armed Forces Branch(s), Federal, state, and local safety, environmental and health requirements.
  • Maintains a site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP) in accordance with Appendix A, EM 385-1-1.
  • Performs other tasks as directed by the Project Manager/Supervisor.
