About The Position

The Janitor is responsible for keeping Southland Trailers clean, organized, stocked, and ready for the people who use our facilities every day. This role goes beyond completing a cleaning checklist. You will take ownership of the overall condition of our offices, cafeterias, boardrooms, gym spaces, common areas, and washrooms across multiple locations. You will notice what needs attention, take care of it before it becomes a problem, and ensure cleaning supplies are always available when needed. Your work plays an important part in creating a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for our Team Members and visitors.

Requirements

• Previous janitorial, commercial cleaning, or facility-cleaning experience is preferred
• Experience managing supplies or inventory is an asset
• A valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle are required
• Strong attention to detail and pride in completing thorough, quality work
• Ability to work independently, manage your time, and take ownership of your responsibilities
• Reliable, punctual, and consistent attendance
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage supplies effectively
• A positive attitude and respect for Team Members and shared spaces
• Comfortable working in both office and industrial environments
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical cleaning duties throughout the shift
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain offices, boardrooms, cafeterias, lunchrooms, gym spaces, common areas, and office and shop washrooms
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors and surfaces
• Dust furniture, fixtures, equipment, and other assigned areas
• Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, including door handles, railings, switches, and shared equipment
• Empty garbage and recycling bins and move waste to designated disposal areas
• Replenish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other facility supplies
• Monitor cleaning supplies across all locations and maintain appropriate inventory levels
• Coordinate the reordering of supplies before they run out
• Keep cleaning equipment and storage areas clean, organized, and controlled
• Complete periodic deep cleaning and special cleaning projects
• Identify and report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, damage, or supply shortages
• Follow all company safety procedures while working in office and production environments
