About The Position

To maintain the facility and grounds in a manner consistent with the requirements of the complex facility manager while meeting all local, state or federal requirements. This role involves ensuring the cleanliness of offices and production areas, managing chemicals and cleaning supplies inventory, and adhering to safety procedures. The Janitor will also participate as a member of the team, contributing to team concepts, programs, and policies, and supporting Simmons' operating systems principles and objectives. The position requires performing other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Requirements

• Must be able to read, write and understand English.
• Must be able to walk, stoop, sit, squat, climb ladders and stairs.
• Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 75 lbs. in weight, lifting from floor to crown multiple times daily.
• Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine finger manipulation of small objects.
• Must be able to work comfortably in confined spaces.
• Must be able to work on feet for the entire shift.
• Will use appropriate footwear, hearing protection, hair net, safety glasses, dust mask and any other protective equipment required or needed.
• Ability to make good decisions and communicate effectively with others and leadership team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure cleanliness of offices and production areas by maintaining a clean work area following the master sanitation schedule.
• Manage chemicals and cleaning supplies inventory by monitoring usage and communicating levels to the manager.
• Read and understand safety labels and preventative practices, including Blood Borne Pathogens (BBP) guidelines.
• Participate as a member of the Team, fostering cohesiveness and resolving issues.
• Be familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems and understand the responsibility to maintain familiarity and support these systems.
• Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
