About The Position

The Janitor performs general cleaning and preservation of assigned areas within one or more client buildings. Specific tasks may vary, so the role requires flexibility in carrying out duties according to client specifications. The position is temporary and pays $15.00 per hour.

Requirements

Must be able to follow written and oral directions.
At least 6 months of experience in a janitorial-type position.

Responsibilities

Empty and clean waste containers; remove waste paper and garbage to designated areas and damp-wipe containers.
Empty and clean ashtrays, monitor sand urn supplies, and replenish sand as needed.
Dust image frames, charts, graphs, and wall hangings.
Damp-dust ceiling and air-conditioning diffusers, partition grilles, registers, and other ventilation louvers.
Vacuum mats and carpeted areas in workplaces, lobbies, and corridors.
Hand-dust and clean office furnishings, files, fixtures, paneling, window sills, and other flat surfaces.
Wipe and buff metal hardware fixtures and brightwork.
Clean and maintain tile floor surfaces as required.
Damp-wipe and buff glass furnishings; clean interior and exterior entry-door glass.
Remove stains from vertical surfaces, including doors, door frames, areas around light switches, private entry glass, and dividers.
Wash, clean, and sterilize water coolers.
Sweep private stairways and vacuum them if carpeted.
Sweep and mop building floors.
Clean and sanitize bathrooms and restock supplies.
