About The Position

Diversified Maintenance is hiring a Janitor to perform all-purpose cleaning and preserve assigned areas within a building or across client sites. Specific tasks may vary, so the Janitor must be flexible and follow each client’s specifications. The role is based in Schaumburg or Bartlett and is listed at $16.50 per hour with weekly pay. The schedule is 35 hours per week: Monday through Saturday, 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., and Sunday, 7 a.m. to noon. The posting identifies the position as full time. On-the-job training is provided.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, or at least six months of experience in a janitorial-type position.
Attention to detail.
Ability to follow instructions effectively.

Nice To Haves

Prior cleaning or janitorial experience.
Familiarity with custodial practices and commercial cleaning standards.
Knowledge of floor-care techniques, including buffing and waxing.
Experience in industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance.

Responsibilities

Maintain and clean floor surfaces by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and other objects.
Clean, monitor, and maintain restrooms, meeting rooms, corridors, and entrance areas.
Empty trash cans and dispose of waste properly; use a compactor for certain materials.
Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaners and equipment.
Spot-clean carpets and assist with carpet extraction and shampooing.
Replenish paper products and sanitary supplies.
Follow the housekeeping schedule.
Occasionally use heavy cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and buffers.
Perform other duties as assigned based on the scope of work or customer needs.
