About The Position

A Janitor is responsible for keeping the workplace clean, organized, and disinfected. The position performs general cleaning and maintenance of interior building areas and follows safety and precautionary rules. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. The job is subject to a background check in accordance with California law. The work environment may occasionally involve moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather, electrical-shock risk, and vibration; noise is usually moderate. Compensation is $16.90 to $18.00.

Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Position is subject to a background check in accordance with California law.

Be dependable, follow instructions and management direction, take responsibility, keep commitments, complete tasks on time or notify the appropriate person with an alternate plan, and work long hours when necessary to reach goals.
Observe safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly.

Responsibilities

Clean building interiors, including floors, carpets, rugs, windows, walls, and other areas.
Vacuum, sweep, and mop offices, rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, elevators, stairs, locker rooms, and other work areas.
Remove stains from chairs and upholstered furniture.
Dust furniture, lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and moldings.
Empty and clean trash cans and ashtrays.
Disinfect commonly used items such as desks, door handles, office tools, and phones.
Clean and maintain restrooms and replenish supplies there and wherever required.
Wash and clean windows and mirrors.
Empty trash and recycling containers and take them to the disposal area.
Clean trash and snow from sidewalks when necessary.
Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and request missing materials from supervisors when applicable.
Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions or conditions requiring maintenance.
Maintain a cleaning chart indicating areas that were cleaned and inspected.
Follow safety and precaution rules and use equipment and materials properly.
Close doors at the end of the night shift.
