About The Position

The Janitor position is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing food preparation, storage, and production areas. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness of floors, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas, as well as washing and sanitizing equipment and food-contact surfaces. The Janitor will also be responsible for waste disposal, restocking supplies, responding to spills, and performing routine cleaning of facility fixtures. Additionally, the role may involve general facility maintenance and assisting with other assigned duties. The work environment is a cold environment ranging from 20-40 degrees Fahrenheit.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous janitorial, custodial, or cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to follow sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize food preparation, storage, and production areas.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and maintain floors throughout the facility.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
• Wash and sanitize equipment, utensils, and other food-contact surfaces.
• Restock cleaning supplies, paper products, and sanitation materials as needed.
• Respond promptly to spills and maintain a safe, hazard-free work environment.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company policies and procedures.
• Perform routine cleaning of walls, windows, doors, and facility fixtures.
• Assist with general facility maintenance and other duties as assigned.
