About The Position

A Janitor is responsible for keeping the workplace clean, organized, and disinfected. The role involves cleaning and maintaining building interiors and common areas, restrooms, and outdoor sidewalks when necessary; replenishing and tracking cleaning supplies; reporting unsafe or maintenance-related conditions; and following safety procedures. The position requires lifting up to 50 pounds and closing doors at the end of the night shift. The work environment may occasionally include exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather, electrical shock risk, and vibration. Noise is usually moderate. Requirements

Responsibilities

Clean building interiors, including floors, carpets, rugs, windows, walls, and general work areas.
Vacuum, sweep, and mop offices, rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, elevators, stairs, locker rooms, and other work areas.
Remove stains from chairs and upholstered furniture and keep furniture, lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and moldings free of dust.
Empty, clean, and maintain trash cans and ashtrays.
Disinfect commonly used items such as desks, door handles, office tools, and phones.
Clean and maintain restrooms and replenish supplies in restrooms and other required areas.
Wash and clean windows and mirrors.
Empty trash and recycling containers into the disposal area.
Clean trash and snow from sidewalks when necessary.
Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and request missing materials from supervisors when applicable.
Notify supervisors about unsafe conditions or conditions requiring maintenance.
Maintain a cleaning chart showing areas that were cleaned and inspected.
Follow safety and precaution rules and use equipment and materials properly.
Close doors at the end of the night shift.
