The Janitor performs cleaning and maintenance duties in workplace and common areas. Work includes waste removal, restroom restocking, floor and surface cleaning, disinfection, and responding to spills and emergency cleanups. The position follows applicable safety and workers’ rules and regulations. This is a part-time role with second- or third-shift options.

Responsibilities

Empty and clean waste containers; remove waste paper, garbage, and recycling to the selected area, and damp-wipe containers.
Stock restrooms with paper supplies and hand soap.
Handle emergency cleanups, including bodily fluids and waste.
Empty and clean ashtrays; monitor sand urns and supply or restore sand as needed.
Dust image frames, charts, graphs, wall hangings, light fixtures, furnishings, files, fixtures, paneling, window sills, and other flat surfaces.
Vacuum mats and carpeted areas in workplaces, lobbies, and corridors.
Keep slop sink rooms clean, tidy, and arranged.
Wipe, clean, buff, and polish metal hardware fixtures; clean tile floor surfaces as required.
Damp-wipe and buff glass furnishings; dust or wash index boards as needed and remove fingerprints and smudges.
Clean entry door glass, including indoor and outer surfaces.
Brush or dust-mop restroom and common-area floors; clean or damp-mop exterior entry areas.
Remove stains from vertical surfaces such as doors, door frames, areas around light switches, private entrance glass, and dividers.
Wash, clean, and sterilize water coolers and refrigerators.
Monitor stairwells and clean or damp-mop spills.
Damp-wash or clean spills in office and community areas as needed.
Disinfect touch points and other areas requiring disinfection.
Follow safety and workers’ rules and regulations.
