About The Position

A Janitor is responsible for keeping the workplace clean, organized, and disinfected. The role is part-time and scheduled Saturday and Sunday in Santa Barbara, California. The employee performs interior cleaning and general janitorial tasks, maintains restrooms and cleaning supplies, reports unsafe or maintenance-related conditions, and follows safety procedures. The position requires lifting up to 50 pounds. The work environment may occasionally involve moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather, electrical-shock risk, and vibration; noise is usually moderate. Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Consistent attendance and punctuality.

• Observe safety and security procedures, identify appropriate actions beyond guidelines, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly.

Responsibilities

• Clean building interiors, including floors, carpets, rugs, windows, walls, and other areas.
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop offices, rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, elevators, stairs, locker rooms, and other work areas.
• Remove stains from chairs and upholstered furniture.
• Dust furniture, lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and moldings.
• Empty and clean trash cans and ashtrays.
• Disinfect commonly used items such as desks, door handles, office tools, and phones.
• Clean and maintain restrooms and replenish supplies in restrooms and other required areas.
• Wash and clean windows and mirrors.
• Take trash and recycling containers to the disposal area.
• Remove trash and snow from sidewalks when necessary.
• Maintain cleaning-supply inventory and request missing materials from supervisors when applicable.
• Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions or conditions requiring maintenance.
• Maintain a cleaning chart showing areas cleaned and inspected.
• Follow safety and precaution rules.
• Close doors at the end of the night shift.
