This position performs all manner of commercial janitorial operations. The Janitor is responsible for cleaning floors, bathrooms, offices, hallways, locker rooms, break rooms, shower rooms, holding cells, surfaces and other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, buffing and polishing using specialized equipment. The role involves inspecting equipment, performing dusting, vacuuming, disinfecting, spot cleaning, trash removal, and polishing metal fixtures. The Janitor will also help organize site supplies, empty and decontaminate trash containers, dispose of infectious waste when assigned, and clean vents. Mixing cleaning solutions, washing blinds, windows, screens, sills, and walls are also part of the duties. Additionally, the Janitor will sweep sidewalks and porches, launder cleaning supplies, pick up trash and debris, and identify and report potential safety hazards. Compliance with company safety and risk management policies, including wearing personal safety equipment, adhering to Operations Security (OPSEC) procedures, and managing Government Furnished Property (GFP) are required. The role must also adhere to the safety and health program that complies with EM 385-1-1 and applicable OSHA, DOD, Armed Forces Branch(s), Federal, state, and local safety, environmental, and health requirements, and maintain a site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP). Other tasks may be directed by the Project Manager/Supervisor.
