About The Position

This position performs all manner of commercial janitorial operations. The Janitor is responsible for cleaning floors, bathrooms, offices, hallways, locker rooms, break rooms, shower rooms, holding cells, surfaces and other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, buffing and polishing using specialized equipment. The role involves inspecting equipment, performing dusting, vacuuming, disinfecting, spot cleaning, trash removal, and polishing metal fixtures. The Janitor will also help organize site supplies, empty and decontaminate trash containers, dispose of infectious waste when assigned, and clean vents. Mixing cleaning solutions, washing blinds, windows, screens, sills, and walls are also part of the duties. Additionally, the Janitor will sweep sidewalks and porches, launder cleaning supplies, pick up trash and debris, and identify and report potential safety hazards. Compliance with company safety and risk management policies, including wearing personal safety equipment, adhering to Operations Security (OPSEC) procedures, and managing Government Furnished Property (GFP) are required. The role must also adhere to the safety and health program that complies with EM 385-1-1 and applicable OSHA, DOD, Armed Forces Branch(s), Federal, state, and local safety, environmental, and health requirements, and maintain a site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP). Other tasks may be directed by the Project Manager/Supervisor.

1-year relevant work experience within a commercial janitorial environment.
Ability to organize effectively, solve problems quickly and communicate clearly.
Focused with a drive to succeed.
Ability to manage time effectively and handle both internal and external conflicts.

Responsibilities

Cleans floors, bathrooms, offices, hallways, locker rooms, break rooms, shower rooms, holding cells, surfaces and other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, buffing and polishing by using specialized equipment.
Inspects all equipment for proper operations prior to using.
Performs high and low dusting, vacuuming, disinfecting, spot cleaning, and trash removal as needed.
Polishes metal fixtures and trimmings.
Helps organize site supplies by replenishing supplies as needed.
Empties and decontaminates trash containers.
Disposes of infectious waste when assigned.
Cleans vents in every office.
Mixes or blends routine cleaning solutions to proper concentration as necessary for various tasks.
Washes blinds, windows, screens, sills and walls with prescribed solutions.
Sweeps sidewalks, porches and tiled surfaces.
Launders rags, mops, etc. from sites.
Picks up trash, chips, and paper around buildings.
Identifies, and reports any potential safety hazards to Supervisor.
Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
Adheres to Operations Security (OPSEC) standard operations procedures.
Adheres to Property Control Plan for management of Government Furnished Property (GFP).
Adheres to the safety and health program that complies with EM 385-1-1 and applicable OSHA, DOD, Armed Forces Branch(s), Federal, state, and local safety, environmental and health requirements.
Maintains a site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP) in accordance with Appendix A, EM 385-1-1.
Performs other tasks as directed by the Project Manager/Supervisor.
