About The Position

Monroe Group is looking for a Janitor to join their team at Meranda Apts. Under the supervision and direction of the Community Manager, this position is responsible for providing clean, sanitary, comfortable, orderly, and satisfying surroundings for residents, employees, and visitors. The Janitor must follow instructions for handling, cleaning, disposing, and moving of objects/materials. The role involves developing a property cleaning schedule, maintaining cleaning supply inventory, and ensuring cleaning equipment is in working order. The Janitor will also assist with posting notices, scheduling vacant unit cleaning, decorating for holidays, and assisting in community meetings and resident requests.

Requirements

English language proficiency (read, speak, and write).
The ability to pass a full background check.
Must be able to work assigned hours as scheduled.
Must be able to use cleaning supplies as directed.
Must be able to use housekeeping equipment.
Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of housekeeping experience in an affordable housing environment.

Responsibilities

Cleaning of halls, common areas, and vacant units, including but not limited to, floors, walls, doors, bathrooms, grounds, stairwells, windows, and appliances as instructed.
Develops property cleaning schedule with supervisor for adequate coverage of buildings and grounds.
Maintains appropriate levels of cleaning supply inventory.
Maintains cleaning equipment in working order.
Post notices as needed.
Work with maintenance and community manager for scheduling of vacant unit cleaning.
Decorate for the holidays including the hanging of decorations.
Assist in community meetings, holiday functions, and special resident requests as needed.
