About The Position

Cascade Community Healthcare (CCH) is seeking a Janitor/Kitchen Service Aide to join their team. This role is crucial for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment essential to patient care. The Janitor/Kitchen Service Aide will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing kitchen, dining, and facility areas, proper waste handling, and assisting with basic kitchen support tasks. The position requires strict adherence to infection control, safety, and sanitation standards, and collaboration with staff to ensure a professional and hygienic healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • WA State food handlers permit, must keep current.
  • Must be able to follow sanitation requirements.
  • Must be able to pass WA State Patrol background checks, may require a national background check.
  • Ability to follow sanitation and safety requirements.
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills.
  • Strong Communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
  • Must comply with agency policies and procedures.
  • Must represent the agency in a positive and professional manner.
  • Successful completion of MOAB training (Management of Aggressive Behavior).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sweep, scrub, mop and polish floors.
  • Clean and restock restrooms daily.
  • Vacuum carpeted areas weekly.
  • Clean carpets, rugs and draperies according to maintenance schedule.
  • Shampoo carpets, rugs and upholstery.
  • Dust and polish furniture and fittings.
  • Clean metal fixtures and fittings according to maintenance schedule.
  • Empty and clean trash containers daily.
  • Dispose of trash in a sanitary manner.
  • Clean wash basins, mirrors, tubs and showers.
  • Wipe down glass surfaces and windowsills.
  • Wash windows as needed and according to maintenance schedule.
  • Operate mechanized cleaning equipment.
  • Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition.
  • Monitor and report necessary domestic repairs and replacement.
  • Provide minor maintenance tasks as instructed by Facilities Manager.
  • Provide back-up coverage for kitchen services.
  • Responsible for prep work of main kitchen and associated kitchens, including a.m. line, p.m. line, and special functions.
  • Responsible for food preparation.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of work area.
  • Daily care of dishwasher and dishwashing area, sinks, worktables, dish storage areas and food carts.
  • Monitor inventory at all times and report items that need to be reordered.
  • Assist in menu creation.
  • Responsible for receiving incoming food orders and rotating stock.
  • Sweep and mop kitchen floors.
  • Operate mechanized cleaning equipment (kitchen).
  • Other duties as assigned.
