About The Position

The Janitor/Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining an attractive community appearance and overall positive curb appeal. This role involves grounds work such as grounds pick up, sweeping, light landscaping, and snow removal. Additionally, the Janitor/Groundskeeper will maintain a clean environment by performing tasks like mopping, window cleaning, trash removal, carpet cleaning, and ensuring bathrooms, amenities, and common areas are clean. The position also requires assisting maintenance team members with tasks as needed and maintaining all equipment and supplies in proper condition. The role emphasizes interacting positively with residents and the public to enhance the community image and ensure superior resident retention, creating a customer-centered service culture.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
Must be able to read and speak English and follow oral and written directions.
Experience working with cleaning chemicals.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and insurance.
Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, and crawl into small spaces.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
Ability to follow instructions.
Must be a team player and be able to work with little supervision.
Excellent time management skills and work ethic needed.

Nice To Haves

Light knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall and painting is a plus.

Maintain all equipment and supplies in proper condition.
Comply with company expectations as demonstrated in the employee handbook.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
