About The Position

The Nascence Group, LLC is seeking dependable and experienced Janitors/Custodians to provide routine and periodic cleaning services at a federal office facility in Asheville, North Carolina. The selected candidates will be responsible for maintaining offices, restrooms, break rooms, hallways, stairways, entrances, common areas, and other assigned spaces in a clean, safe, sanitary, and professional condition. Routine janitorial services will be performed after the Government's regular working hours. The earliest routine cleaning may generally begin is 4:31 p.m., Monday through Friday. Exact workdays and weekly hours will be determined based on the final schedule.

Requirements

  • Previous janitorial, custodial, commercial cleaning, housekeeping, or facilities-cleaning experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow detailed cleaning schedules, safety procedures, and supervisor instructions.
  • Knowledge of basic cleaning chemicals, tools, and commercial janitorial equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cleaning team.
  • Dependable attendance and ability to report to work on time.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, and facility personnel.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and behave professionally within a federal workplace.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the Asheville worksite.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Complete fingerprinting and a federal Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Receive a favorable or interim favorable Government security determination before beginning unaccompanied work.
  • Obtain and maintain required facility-access credentials or identification.
  • Complete required annual information-security or facility-access training.
  • Complete required safety training, including bloodborne-pathogen and biohazard procedures applicable to restroom cleaning.
  • Comply with all federal facility security and access requirements.
  • Employees performing unaccompanied or overnight cleaning must complete the required background investigation, fingerprinting, badging, and associated training.

Responsibilities

  • Empty trash, wastepaper, recycling, and shredder containers. Replace trash liners and clean and disinfect containers when soiled.
  • Transport collected waste, recycling, and cardboard to the appropriate dumpsters.
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, partitions, doors, fixtures, and floor drains.
  • Restock toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, seat covers, sanitary disposal bags, and other required restroom supplies.
  • Sweep, dust mop, damp mop, and clean hard-surface floors.
  • Vacuum carpets, rugs, stairways, entrances, offices, and common areas.
  • Dust and wipe furniture, cabinets, partitions, windowsills, handrails, doors, walls, ventilation grilles, and other surfaces.
  • Clean and disinfect drinking fountains.
  • Clean break rooms and kitchens, including counters, tables, chairs, sinks, microwaves, stoves, ovens, refrigerators, and floors.
  • Replenish hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, and paper towels in break-room areas.
  • Clean interior glass, doors, window frames, sills, and other designated surfaces.
  • Remove litter, debris, cobwebs, insects, and nests from entrances, sidewalks, balconies, garages, loading areas, and other exterior areas.
  • Clean walk-off mats and entrance areas.
  • Assist with scheduled carpet cleaning and commercial floor care, including buffing, stripping, and waxing, when properly trained.
  • Assist with high dusting, light-fixture cleaning, conference-room chair cleaning, and other periodic services.
  • Respond to spills, leaks, restroom overflows, broken glass, and other cleaning emergencies when assigned.
  • Use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and personal protective equipment safely and according to instructions.
  • Place warning signs around wet floors or other temporary hazards.
  • Follow all quality-control procedures and promptly correct cleaning deficiencies.
  • Report damaged property, unsafe conditions, supply shortages, access issues, or unusual incidents to the supervisor.
  • Protect Government property, keys, identification cards, and facility-access credentials.
  • Perform other janitorial duties within the scope of the contract as assigned.
  • The work includes routine space cleaning, restroom service, floor care, kitchen cleaning, waste removal, glass cleaning, and periodic specialty cleaning.
