Requirements

• Secondary school diploma or equivalent required
• Good communication skills - must be able to read, write and speak English
• Minimum one year recent housekeeping experience, preferably in a Healthcare environment
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to lift fifty up to (50) pounds
• Ability to climb a 4-step platform ladder with handrail
• Able to operate heavy machinery
• Must be able to perform the physical demands of the position
• Satisfactory employment and attendance record required

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive cleaning including patient rooms
• Frequent dry/wet mopping of large floor spaces including Food Services kitchen, dish room and production areas, dining rooms etc.
• Frequent pick up, transport & disposal of waste, cardboard and soiled linen
• Quality assessment
• Other duties as assigned
