About The Position

We are looking for a Janitor, or custodian, to take care of our Daycare Center by carrying out cleaning and maintenance duties after the school closes (630pm onwards) on a daily basis (M-F) at The Learning Experience Jackson NJ for approximately 4 hours a night. The goal is to keep our building in a clean and orderly condition by following the daily, weekly and monthly checklists.

Requirements

• Proven working experience as a janitor
• Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery (Buffer + carpet cleaner)
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
• Integrity and ability to work independently

Responsibilities

• Clean and supply designated building (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, emptying of trash etc)
• Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
• Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects (strip and wax, carpet shampooing)
• Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
• Make adjustments and minor repairs
• Stock and maintain supply rooms
• Cooperate with the rest of the staff
• Follow all health and safety regulations
