About The Position
Under general supervision, an employee in this class performs routine cooking in the large production of meals at Suffolk County correctional facilities. Assignments follow set departmental policies and procedures, and menus are prepared by the Jail Head Cook. Performs institutional cooking for inmates and prepares and cooks food for a large number of correction personnel. Must maintain security clearance to work in the Jail.
Requirements
- Graduation from a standard senior high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma.
- Six (6) months of experience in the preparation of food on a large scale.
- Must maintain security clearance to work in the Jail.
