About The Position

The Jack Driver Operator is responsible for safely operating electric or manual pallet jacks to move, stage, and position materials, ingredients, and finished products throughout the plant. This position supports efficient product flow while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies, food safety standards, and procedures in a fresh food manufacturing environment. Fresh Plant Environment Expectations include supporting the movement of raw and fresh products in temperature-controlled environments, adhering to strict food safety, sanitation, and contamination prevention standards, wearing required PPE, and working in cold, wet, or humid conditions typical of a fresh plant environment.

Requirements

  • Must be able to understand labels, read recipes, follow instructions, and communicate effectively.
  • Must have 6 months work history in the last 12 months documented within your application’s work history and/or resume. Can be a combination of employers as long as it is within the past 12 months or your application will not be reviewed.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to push, pull, and maneuver loaded pallet jacks
  • Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
  • Ability to work in cold, wet, or humid conditions typical of a fresh plant environment

Nice To Haves

  • Rehires are subject to a 91 day wait period, determined from their last date of employment, to apply for FRESH PLANT.
  • Candidates that have worked for Tyson Foods or Tyson Affiliates 3 or more times will not be eligible for rehire.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate electric and/or manual pallet jacks to transport materials and products
  • Move raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods to designated areas
  • Stage pallets for production, storage, or shipping as directed
  • Verify product identification, quantities, and pallet condition prior to movement
  • Maintain continuous product flow to support production and shipping operations
  • Inspect pallet jacks before use and report equipment issues promptly
  • Maintain clear and safe travel paths in production, warehouse, and dock areas
  • Follow traffic patterns, pedestrian safety rules, and right-of-way procedures
  • Assist with general material handling and warehouse tasks as needed
  • Complete required documentation or system entries accurately
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene requirements
  • Comply with OSHA regulations and Tyson safety policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
