About The Position

A Southland Holdings company is currently accepting resumes for an experienced Jack and Bore Welder for our large heavy civil project located in Cape Coral, FL. As a Welder you will be responsible for various welding activities on active construction sites. The ideal candidate will have minimum 5 years of experience welding non-pressurized pip (36" to 60") using a Miller Trial Boss stick welding with the ability to also run flux core dual shield mig. All applicants should hold an active D1.1 6G certification. When not welding, employees will assist with general boring operations including preparing the bore pit, moving pipe, and other labor duties such as spiking, anchoring, and surfacing.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience welding non-pressurized pipe (36" to 60")
Experience using a Miller Trial Boss stick welding
Ability to run flux core dual shield mig
Active D1.1 6G certification

Responsibilities

Adhere to and promote safe work practices as determined by the company
Plan out work activities with Operations team to develop best means and methods, including developing safety action plans or other emergency plans as needed.
Ensures team has proper resources for the timely completion of work, including laborer, tools, equipment and material.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with all company and customer safety policies and procedures
Complete written forms and reports as required.
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, hearing protection, safety-toe boots or safety glasses when required.
