ITS/Traffic Engineering Intern - Summer 2027
About The Position
AtkinsRéalis is seeking an ITS/Traffic Engineering Intern – Summer 2027 to join our Orlando, FL office. This role involves developing plans, specifications, and other documentation to support project delivery. The intern will compile data and prepare reports related to projects, review ITS device locations and inventories, and prepare exhibits and figures using MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and AutoCAD Civil 3D. The position also includes field work and site visits, such as conducting investigations, verifying existing traffic signal equipment, documenting field conditions with photos, and performing ITS inventory collection.
Requirements
- Completed 60 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2027).
- Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.
- Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn.
- 0-2 Years experience in a related technical field.
Responsibilities
- Develop plans, specifications, and other documentation to support project delivery.
- Compile data and prepare reports related to projects.
- Reviewing ITS device locations and inventories.
- Preparing exhibits and figures using MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Conducting site visits and field investigations.
- Verifying existing traffic signal equipment.
- Documenting field conditions with photos.
- Performing ITS inventory collection.
