About The Position

Dewberry is seeking an ITS Project Manager for its Fairfax, Virginia, or Richmond, Virginia office. The role joins a large team of traffic engineers and involves leading ITS design on Intelligent Transportation Systems and Electronic Toll Collection projects for clients in the mid-Atlantic region and across the eastern United States. Projects may involve vehicle detection and surveillance systems, dynamic message signs, toll rate signs, toll gantries, and connected and autonomous vehicle technologies. The position offers opportunities to build project management and client management skills while working on innovative projects. The job description also notes flexible work hours and the ability to telework part-time. The projected annual salary range is $140,000–$180,000, and may vary slightly depending on skills, experience, location, and market conditions. Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
At least 10 years of experience in ITS design and traffic engineering.
MicroStation experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to monitor schedules and budgets.
Ability to work in groups and lead and mentor traffic engineers.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to effectively develop new business.

Nice To Haves

Experience with VDOT, MDOT, and/or design-build projects.
Project management and leadership skills.
Electrical design experience.
Working knowledge of VDOT and/or MDOT standards.

Responsibilities

Manage and perform ITS-related tasks and project work.
Lead and mentor a group of traffic engineers.
Collaborate with roadway, structures, hydraulics, and environmental groups within the Transportation business unit.
Prepare scopes of work, schedules, and fee proposals.
Meet with clients.
