About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Network/ITS Intern to support our growing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Traffic Engineering team in the Southeast. This internship provides hands-on exposure to transportation technology and network systems while working alongside experienced engineers and technicians on real-world projects. The role sits within our Mobility Global Business Area, where we partner with clients to design connected, sustainable transportation solutions that keep communities moving.

Requirements

Currently pursuing or recently completed an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in: Information Technology, Networking, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering Technology or a related field.
Interest in transportation systems, networking, or ITS technology
Willingness to travel locally or regionally as required
Ability to work safely in outdoor and field-based environments

Nice To Haves

Coursework or hands-on experience with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, switches, routers)
CompTIA Network+ (completed or in progress) is a plus

Responsibilities

Support project teams with tasks such as: Assisting with basic troubleshooting of Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) issues under supervision
Supporting the installation, configuration, and maintenance of ITS and network devices, including: CCTV systems, Changeable message signs, Vehicle detection and traffic monitoring systems
Assisting with field activities on transportation corridors, including: Network switches (Layer 2/3), Cellular routers, Fiber optic and wireless communication systems
Documenting field observations, system configurations, and maintenance activities
Collaborating with engineers and technicians in both office and outdoor environments
