About The Position

The Ambulatory Application Analyst works under the direction of the application’s team lead to design, build, & test clinical systems. They support workflow analysis, design and build sessions with subject matter experts (physicians, nursing, and other ancillary services personnel). They complete in-depth and precise investigation and documentation of operational specifications and application functionality to deliver expected outcomes. Attention to detail is a critical skill for this position. Successful candidates enjoy helping other users learn and adopt usage of the application. This position is part of an on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience in a HealthCare environment required.
  • Four years of experience in clinical applications experience required.
  • Must be willing to attend required Epic training at the Epic training center.
  • Proven ability to successfully work in a matrix team environment that presents significant change and tight timelines.

  • Travel to locations within Connecticut and surrounding States will be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in clinical information system management in an acute or ambulatory care setting preferred.
  • Epic Ambulatory certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the design, development, system configuration, implementation, and support of information systems for the organization.
  • Understands the operational issues within their application area well enough to represent their user’s needs.
  • Planning, development, training, implementation, and evaluation of application functionality.
  • Troubleshoot, research, and solve technically challenging problems and customer issues.
  • Provides on-call support to customers.
  • May support multi-specialty services lines and Epic Applications including Oncology/Beacon or Transplant/Phoenix.
  • Working with the team and key customers to ensure appropriate development, training, and implementation of application functionality.
  • Collaborates and consults with application director, project manager, Informatics, and other team leaders to coordinate activities.
  • Analyzes workflow and translates into application configurations to ensure consistent system design.
  • Participate actively in weekly team meetings to discuss team and project related activities, issues, change, communications, and updates.
  • Coordinates vendor support for functional and technical support of assigned areas as needed.
  • Assists in the development and documentation of internal policies and procedures that will be used in conjunction with the application.
  • Builds effective relationships and communication with clinical and business partners through all the phases of the projects to support completing project's goals
  • Contributes in the preparation and execution of testing scripts and materials and performs unit, system, and integrated testing tasks.
  • Documents and maintains all required system design and build documents and configure system accordingly.
  • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
