About The Position

The ITM/Service Technician will be responsible for scheduling, executing, and reporting on fire sprinkler/fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 25/72 standards. This role involves learning and adhering to processes for these systems as defined by NFPA standards and Symons Fire Protection policies. The technician will also be responsible for efficient route planning, clear communication with clients and team members, and mastering various company systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to comprehend instructions, written correspondence, and read lists and reports.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate figures and amounts and compute rates, ratios, and percents.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions delivered in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Use of Paycom, Outlook, and BuilderTrend.
  • Basic knowledge of mobile devices for communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Blazemaster training must be obtained within the first 3 months of employment.
  • OSHA 10 training must be obtained within the first 3 months of employment.
  • CPR/First Aid training must be obtained within the first 3 months of employment.
  • Anti-Harassment course must be completed within the first 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule inspections using Builder Trend and confirm with clients.
  • Execute field inspections, performing all tasks according to NFPA 25 code.
  • Complete inspection reports in the field and upload them to Buildertrend/The Compliance Engine.
  • Inform clients about inspections, explain services, and communicate clearly what is being done and why.
  • Learn and master Symons processes and systems including Buildertrend, The Compliance Engine, email/calls/texts, and Paycom.
  • Drive efficiently to inspection destinations and complete workloads.
  • Learn and understand the NFPA 25 code book for inspections and maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with the team in various situations and/or jobs.
  • Maintain reliable and predictable attendance.
