About The Position

SAP America, Inc. seeks an IT Technology Services Senior Specialist at our Plano, TX location to design and develop systems, applications, products, services and data to optimize/automate SAPʼs business processes and improve work efficiency. The role involves engaging with business stakeholders and other technology teams to deliver solutions to business requirements, performing complex data and system development along with technology integration through learned technology coding languages. The specialist will facilitate the system/ service/ product lifecycle, ensuring stable, secure, performant and high available operations for and between system and cloud services. They will also facilitate agile engagement with the business, revise and update existing programs, provide required documentation, and execute and support problem management and continuous improvement. Additionally, the role includes contributing to the definition of technical standards and frameworks, managing cloud technologies, associated architectural styles (e.g., microservices, containerization, serverless architectures), and web development stacks. The specialist will apply agile software delivery processes and industry-standard toolsets for DevOps implementation, as well as modern data processing technologies and methods (e.g., non-SQL databases, data lakes) and modern SaaS platform, integration, and extensibility concepts.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field of study and six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field of study and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Reviewing, updating, and enhancing existing applications, producing detailed and accurate technical documents for ongoing use
Designing and implementing SAP Applications and Databases, focusing on High Availability and disaster recovery concepts
Utilizing system architecture, product lifecycle processes, and technology integration methodologies enabling consistent delivery of stable and supported solutions
Finding and fixing problems with load balancers
Designing, developing, and optimizing technology solutions that support business processes, including SAP applications, system components, and integrated services
Cloud technologies, including microservices, containerization frameworks, and serverless architectural patterns
Integrating SaaS platforms and applying extensibility concepts
Analyzing S/4HANA data footprint, including server downsizing and upsizing

Responsibilities

Engage with business stakeholders and other technology teams to deliver solutions to business requirements.
Perform complex data and system development along with technology integration through learned technology coding languages.

Participate in de-escalation activities.
Contribute to definition of technical standards and frameworks.
Manage cloud technologies, the associated architectural styles (e.g. microservices, containerization, serverless architectures) and web development stacks.
Apply agile software delivery process and the industry‐standard toolset for DevOps implementation.
Apply modern data processing technologies and methods, such as non‐SQL databases or data lakes.
Apply modern SaaS platform, integration, and extensibility concepts.
