About The Position

We are seeking an experienced IT Technology and AI Specialist to lead our technology, security, and international compliance functions. This is a senior leadership role with full end-to-end ownership, responsible for leading a global team, shaping strategy alongside senior leadership, managing P&L components, and driving company-wide AI adoption. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role within a fast-growing company, with experience in managing remote teams and understanding the challenges of scaling an online business. You will be responsible for anticipating and mitigating risks, setting the direction for AI implementation, and ensuring security and compliance across multiple territories.

Requirements

Experience as the #1 or standout 2IC of a technology function at a fast-growing NZ or AU company.
Strong track record in an IT Manager role or above, ideally at a similar scale.
Experience with fully remote, online companies on a growth curve.
Fluent in the practical execution of security, compliance, and AI.
Confident across NIST CSF and CIS Security Controls.
Google Cloud Suite experience.
A hands-on operator who leads from the front.

Nice To Haves

CISM, CISSP, CRISC or CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent) strongly preferred.
Coaching, education, or professional-services industry experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

Full, end-to-end ownership of technology, security, and international compliance.
Lead and coach the technology team across multiple time zones, building capability.
Collaborate with senior leadership on strategy and decision-making.
Manage P&L components related to the technology function.
Oversee day-to-day security, compliance, and strategy across NZ, AU, and new territories.
Set the direction, guardrails, and priority use cases for AI adoption across the business.
