Temporary IT Technician/TRAVEL Within Northern Colorado
About The Position
Our client is seeking five Election IT Technicians to support polling locations for the November 2026 Election cycle. These technicians will provide onsite technical support at assigned election locations and serve as the first point of contact for election judges and site staff experiencing technology-related issues. Resources will support one primary polling location while providing coverage for several additional polling sites within an assigned geographic area. This role is primarily customer-service and technical support focused. Technicians are not expected to perform advanced networking or systems administration tasks. Technicians will act as the onsite resource, gather information, perform basic troubleshooting, and relay information back as needed. Mileage reimbursement for travel between polling locations is $0.76/mile.
Requirements
- Basic computer and technology knowledge.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to follow directions and troubleshooting procedures.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
- Ability to travel between polling sites throughout Weld County.
- Ability to lift and move election equipment (approximately 20+ lbs.).
- Comfortable working independently in a polling place environment.
- Must maintain strict political neutrality while on assignment.
Responsibilities
- Provide onsite technology support during election operations.
- Assist election judges and staff with basic computer issues.
- Perform basic troubleshooting including: Reboots and system restarts, Connectivity verification, Peripheral troubleshooting.
- Escalate outages and technical issues.
- Collect troubleshooting information and communicate findings to the IT team.
- Travel between assigned election sites when requested.
- Participate in election site setup activities.
- Assist with unloading and moving election equipment.
- Support election site teardown and equipment collection after Election Day.
- Maintain professional and nonpartisan conduct at all times.
