About The Position

Banner Health is seeking an IT Technician II to support the upkeep and maintenance of data center IT infrastructure. This role is essential in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our IT systems by assisting with installations, troubleshooting, hardware maintenance, and network support. The IT Technician II will collaborate with internal teams to address technical issues, implement system upgrades, and optimize IT infrastructure performance. This position is critical in maintaining smooth data center operations and supporting business continuity efforts. The typical schedule for this role is Monday-Friday, 7 AM – 4 PM, and is on-site at Banner Corporate Center Mesa. The ideal candidate should have a Associates degree in a related field or at least 2 years of experience working with IT infrastructure. Candidates should possess strong technical troubleshooting skills, time management abilities, and experience with IT workflows and design. Previous project management experience, multitasking capabilities, and strong communication skills are also highly desirable. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or two years of related experience in Information Technology is required.
  • Must be proficient and technically adept in the use and operation of a wide range of desktop, mobile devices and network connectivity.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office O365 applications is required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and interact with various levels of customer and support groups.
  • Requires communication and presentation and organizational skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Requires ability to communicate and interact across all services and at various levels.
  • Must have knowledge of Information Technology in a fast-paced environment.
  • Requires exceptional communication, both written and verbal.
  • Working variable shifts and hours and carrying/responding to a pager may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains knowledge of standard work routines, equipment and day-to-day activities and/or routines.
  • Applies intermediate level instructions and procedures to resolve information technology related problems of varying complexity. Chooses best alternative from group of known possibilities. Demonstrates flexibility to adapt to various situations.
  • Demonstrates communication skills. Self-directed in completing daily responsibility. Demonstrates initiative in timely completion of assigned task. Responds to standard requests from internal and/ or external customers. Interacts primarily with department peers and/ or personnel, internal and external customers.
  • Completes assignments within established procedures. Frequent review of work results. Maintains an organized and clean environment.
  • Maintains current professional and technical knowledge relating to the healthcare industry by attending educational workshops/conferences, establishing personal networks, and/or maintaining relevant certification or licensure as business needs require.
  • Takes high level responsibility for selected information systems. Performs work in a fast-paced multi-tasked environment where there may be conflicting priorities or tight deadlines. Has decision-making authority for projects and applications and works at peer level across diverse areas and multiple states. Participates in meetings, presentations, visioning sessions, strategic and planning sessions, implementation activities, and supports functions company-wide.
  • Responsible for supporting business planning, tactical execution, and business integration in assigned technology area.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction for all IT activities and support services.
  • Acts as a resource in documenting issues, problems and concerns in regard to IT resources, tools and systems.
  • Supports system defined objectives relative to the company’s business and healthcare requirements.
  • Supports some company Information Technology infrastructure, networks, hardware and applications.
  • May provide cross coverage for Help Desk, Desktop Support or Audio/Visual teams.
