About The Position

The mission of the Secretary of State's office is to serve the public by meeting its legal responsibilities of collecting, securing, and communicating information that enhances commerce, ensures the integrity of Louisiana's elections, and preserves, presents, and makes accessible government information essential to Louisiana's operations and its recorded history. Operating as a core Systems Administrator, this IT Technical Specialist 1 or 2 will manage, secure, and optimize the agency's physical and virtual servers, virtual endpoints, directory/identity services, and managed service infrastructure. We are seeking a proactive professional with proven expertise in provisioning hypervisors, maintaining Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and utilizing enterprise unified management software. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience managing identity and networking within managed services, supporting application development ecosystems, and executing robust endpoint security and backup strategies.

Responsibilities

• Manage, secure, and optimize the agency's physical and virtual server infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime and performance.
• Administer and support virtual endpoint infrastructures and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize directory/identity systems and foundational core networking infrastructure services.
• Oversee daily operations, identity governance, and networking configurations within the agency’s managed service infrastructure environments.
• Provide infrastructure support, resource provisioning, and configuration management for the application development ecosystem.
• Utilize enterprise unified management software solutions to monitor, deploy, and audit system resources across the department.
