About The Position

We are seeking passionate individuals for our IT Systems Technical Specialist Supervisor role, so join our team and make a meaningful impact on youth and the community at DJS! The IT Systems Software Design & Quality Manager directs and manages the work of the IT Systems Technical Specialists, IT Quality Assurance Specialists and IT Functional Analysts. In this capacity, this position oversees the development of business requirements using Agile methodologies for all information technology and technical services, works closely with the business teams to identify needs, desired functionality and develops plans and priorities for projects. This position also develops quality assurance plans for information technology applications and services, works with business owners to make decisions as to major changes to technology or services, develops and maintains quality assurance standards and reports regularly on the quality assurance status of our systems and services.

Requirements

  • Eight years of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining application, communication, database or operating systems software.
  • Candidates may substitute graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems or other information technology-related field to include coursework in application, communication, database or operating systems software technology for four years of the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and one year of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining application, communication, database or operating systems software for four years of the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute experience operating computer systems; or scheduling, controlling input and output to process data on computer systems; or evaluating, implementing and maintaining computer hardware and software; or converting data from project specifications by writing program code using generally accepted computer programming languages on a year-for-year basis for a high school education.
  • Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems or other information technology-related field to include coursework in application, communication, database or operating systems software technology and four years of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining application, communication, database or operating systems software for the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Computer Systems Operations classifications or Computer Systems Operations specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Nice To Haves

  • In-depth knowledge of Agile, Scrum and Waterfall methodologies and the ability to implement QA processes in an Agile environment
  • Five (5) years experience in Agile Methodologies, including the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Five (5) years experience in User Experience Design (UI/UX)
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve quality objectives
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with attention to detail
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Plans, directs, supervises, trains and evaluates the work of IT Systems Technical Specialist, IT Quality Assurance Specialists and IT Functional Analysts in achieving short- and long-term goals, training and development goals and completes all PEPS, timesheets, and leave requests within the required time limits.
  • Plans, designs and develops improvements to systems and applications through functional analysis.
  • Develops the structure and methodology for improvements to systems and applications through quality assurance.
