About The Position

The IT Systems & Field Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and advancing Phoenix Integrated Security's technology infrastructure while providing hands-on field support for security technology deployments throughout Michigan. This position combines systems administration, networking, cloud infrastructure, software implementation, and field operations into a single role. The IT Systems & Field Operations Specialist is a highly motivated, self-directed professional who takes ownership of projects, research solutions independently, and follows tasks through from planning to successful completion. This position includes approximately 50-70% field work, including outdoor job site work, trailer deployments, camera mounting, cable running, equipment troubleshooting, and repairs in various weather conditions. This role supports the company's internal technology systems while also installing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mobile surveillance trailers, security cameras, networking equipment, and related technologies in the field.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of IT experience with a proven ability to solve problems independently
  • Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, user administration, and general systems management
  • Experience managing cloud infrastructure in AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar platforms
  • Experience deploying or managing containerized applications using Docker
  • Solid networking fundamentals, including routing, firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, and remote connectivity troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience installing, configuring, or troubleshooting security cameras, access control hardware and systems, or related field equipment
  • Ability to research, diagnose, and resolve issues without requiring constant direction
  • Ability to organize and plan work to maximize productivity and accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with company technology standards and security policies.
  • Follow cybersecurity best practices when administering systems.
  • Maintain proper user access controls and permissions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company and customer information.
  • Ability to travel throughout Michigan as needed.
  • Lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting and managing a broad range of technology systems, including email and systems administration, software evaluation and rollout, cloud infrastructure, containerized applications, network infrastructure, security software administration, camera and security hardware support, software and hardware integrations, and server administration.
  • Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining UniFi networking equipment, Peplink and cellular routers, VPN connections, firewalls, network switches, and wireless infrastructure.
  • Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing mobile surveillance trailers, security camera systems, access control equipment, and video management systems.
  • Performing field installations including camera mounting, cable installation, equipment wiring, hardware replacement, and equipment testing.
  • Troubleshooting internet connectivity and remote communications, coordinating with internet service providers and technology vendors.
  • Evaluating, implementing, and supporting new software platforms and assisting with software integrations between internal business systems.
  • Supporting both on-premises and cloud-based server environments.
  • Performing preventive maintenance on surveillance trailers and deployed technology.
  • Responding to technology outages and equipment failures.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of technology assets and configurations.
  • Coordinating with ISPs, hardware suppliers, software vendors, and service providers.
