About The Position

The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for infrastructure support, technical planning, and implementation of computing and storage systems owned by South Central Regional Medical Center. This role includes installing and supporting system hardware and software, performing upgrades, managing patching and automation, monitoring system health, and collaborating with IT teams and vendors to ensure maximum uptime, security, and performance.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required
• Minimum of three (3) years of Information Technology experience
• Working knowledge of enterprise infrastructure and networking principles
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong documentation skills

Nice To Haves

• Previous healthcare IT experience
• Professional certification from Cisco, VMware, or Microsoft (or ability to obtain within six months)
• Detailed knowledge or certification in data center technologies
• Some college or degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation, engineering/design, and implementation services for new products and technologies
• Perform Level 3 escalation support for Desktop Support and Helpdesk
• Manage daily production support
• Perform patching and code deployments across all environments
• Lead technology implementation and enhancement projects
• Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting
• Maintain enterprise backup and monitoring processes
• Ensure compliance with SCRMC IT standards, HIPAA requirements, and best practices
• Identify and implement automation opportunities using scripting
• Research and recommend systems administration best practices
• Close support requests in a timely manner
• Perform other duties as assigned
