About The Position

Signal Advisors is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of IT support and the systems behind it. The role owns the Linear IT queue, onboarding and offboarding, software and vendor processes, core SaaS systems, IT improvement projects, security initiatives, and IT documentation. The IT Systems Engineer will work with the Director of Automation on IT and technology initiatives, collaborate with the CISO on specific security projects, and draw on the broader tech team for project support. Within 90 days, IT support should be under the role’s ownership, with a clear path and turnaround for tool requests. Experience owning a SaaS-based IT environment is essential; prior ownership of a vendor process is an asset. The position combines technical support with IT project leadership. The successful candidate will independently set priorities, improve systems rather than simply maintain them, document processes for self-service, and automate repetitive work as the company grows. This is a full-time position with a flexible, hybrid working environment. The US base salary is determined by role, level, and location, as well as factors including interviews, education, experience, skills, equity with team members, and market data.

Requirements

  • Experience administering a modern SaaS-based IT environment—including an identity provider such as Okta, Google Workspace, and an MDM—as its primary owner rather than as one member of an IT team.
  • Experience independently running an IT support queue from intake through resolution at a company of comparable size.
  • Experience implementing security work assigned by a security lead on systems the candidate administered.
  • Experience writing runbooks and documentation that others could follow without asking.
  • Owner’s mindset: willingness to take primary responsibility for a substantial workload, with the tech team serving as backup.
  • Self-direction in setting priorities and checking in when appropriate.
  • Ability and inclination to improve the systems being administered.
  • Comfort handling both company technical support and IT project leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Ownership of a software request and vendor process, including evaluation, procurement, renewals, and licensing.
  • Experience with Okta, Iru (formerly Kandji), NinjaOne, or Bitdefender.
  • Administration of Slack, Zoom Phone, or Zoom Contact Center, and experience with domains and DNS.
  • Experience automating IT workflows and operational processes.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Linear IT support queue from intake through resolution, including onboarding and offboarding accounts, access, hardware, and device recovery.
  • Build and manage the software and vendor process, including requests, evaluation, procurement, renewals, licensing, and the application inventory.
  • Maintain and improve core systems, including Okta, Google Workspace, 1Password, Slack, Zoom, MDM (Iru, formerly Kandji, and NinjaOne), domains and DNS, and office technology.
  • Deliver improvement projects for Okta, MDM, and newly adopted tools, from evaluation through rollout.
  • Implement IT-side security initiatives requested by the CISO.
  • Document IT processes in runbooks and self-service resources.
  • Automate repetitive IT tasks and workflows over time.
