About The Position

Braven is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to own the administration of its core collaboration and productivity platforms and drive automation to streamline internal team workflows. This role is part of the IT team and will report directly to the Head of Workplace Technology & Operations. The IT Systems Engineer will administer tools such as Jira Service Management, Slack, and Zoom, and will collaborate with the IT Systems Architect on infrastructure decisions while independently managing the collaboration tooling and automation layer. The goal is to support Braven's ambition of serving 80,000-100,000 Fellows over the next decade.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of IT experience.
  • 1-2 years administering SaaS collaboration platforms (e.g., Jira, Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace, or similar).
  • Demonstrated experience designing and building automations or scripted workflows (e.g., Jira automation, Okta Workflows, PowerShell, Python).

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency administering Atlassian Jira/Jira Service Management, including workflow and automation rule design.
  • Experience administering Slack at an organizational level (admin console, app management, integrations).
  • Experience administering Zoom at an organizational level.
  • Experience with single sign-on and identity administration (e.g., Okta).
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, JavaScript).
  • Track record of identifying and solving internal workflow inefficiencies through technology.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to a variety of stakeholders with different technical backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Administer Jira Service Management, including projects, workflows, request types, and automation rules.
  • Administer Slack and Zoom at an organizational level, including app/integration management and provisioning.
  • Identify manual, repetitive, or inefficient internal workflows and design automated solutions (e.g., Jira automation rules, Okta Workflows, scripting).
  • Partner with team leads across the organization to translate workflow pain points into automated technical solutions.
  • Provide tier 2/3 support for issues escalated from the helpdesk queue related to collaboration platforms.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for tool configurations, workflows, and automations.
  • Collaborate with the IT Systems Architect on infrastructure and architecture-level decisions that intersect with collaboration tooling.
  • Coordinate with software vendors to implement new features and evaluate new tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.
