About The Position

CharterWest Bank is seeking an experienced, self-motivated IT Systems and Operations Administrator to join our Information Technology Department. This hands-on position is responsible for technology administration, advanced troubleshooting, process improvement, and assigned systems, services, and projects. With locations throughout Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota, CharterWest provides broad exposure to banking technology, infrastructure, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365, vendor systems, and project work. The position is well suited for an IT professional who can work independently, identify areas needing attention, and follow work through to completion.

  • Two or more years of IT experience in systems, network, Microsoft 365, security, and/or IT operations preferred.
  • Experience in a bank, credit union, regulated industry, or managed service provider supporting financial institutions strongly preferred.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

  • Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Azure, Fortinet, or Cisco CCNA, are helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot networks, firewalls, switches, VPNs, wireless networks, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file access, endpoints, and related Bank technology.
  • Manage Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune, Entra ID, licensing, MFA, Conditional Access, and related security settings.
  • Monitor security alerts, logs, and endpoint protection; assist with access reviews, patching, vulnerability remediation, incident response, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide professional technical support and advanced troubleshooting for users, applications, systems, access, and connectivity.
  • Coordinate vendor support, manage assigned cases, and participate in upgrades, implementations, technology rollouts, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Identify recurring issues, process gaps, security risks, and opportunities to improve the reliability, efficiency, and use of existing technology.
  • Maintain procedures, inventories, diagrams, and system documentation, and communicate technical information clearly to employees.
  • Perform other IT-related duties as assigned.
