About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining and supporting core IT infrastructure, including servers, network connectivity, backup systems, and end-user computing. The IT Systems and Infrastructure Administrator will maintain and support physical and virtual server environments, monitor system performance, capacity, and availability, and implement measures to proactively address issues. They will perform routine maintenance, support server life-cycle, and manage and monitor backup systems to ensure successful and reliable data protection. This role also involves configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network equipment, diagnosing and resolving network connectivity issues, and providing technical support to end-users by diagnosing and resolving hardware and software problems. Additionally, the administrator will evaluate and recommend new technologies, collaborate with vendors, and manage vendor relationships and contracts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience in server and network management
  • Knowledge of security principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must meet the definition of “US Person” under ITAR/EAR regulations

Nice To Haves

  • VMware/ Hyper-V experience
  • Meraki experience
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA; CompTIA Server+, Network+, Security+; etc.)
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of ITAR, EAR, or other surrounding regulatory frameworks is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support physical and virtual server environments
  • Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability; implement measures to proactively address issues before they impact operations
  • Perform routine maintenance including patching, updates, and system health checks
  • Support server life-cycle, including provisioning, decommissioning, and documentation of configurations
  • Manage and monitor backup systems to ensure successful and reliable data protection
  • Respond to and resolve backup failures in a timely manner
  • Contribute to disaster recovery planning and execution
  • Perform routine backup verification and periodic recovery testing
  • Execute recovery procedures as necessary
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot established network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points
  • With vendor support, implement network upgrades and updates as needed
  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues across office and production environments
  • Collaborate with external vendors or internal teams on escalated network issues
  • Assist in maintaining network documentation and diagrams
  • Provide technical support to end-users by diagnosing and resolving hardware and software problems
  • Respond to help desk requests and ensure timely resolution of issues
  • Assist users with network access, account creation, and password resets
  • Provide day-to-day support for desktops, laptops, and standard business applications
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and access issues for office and production users
  • Support user onboarding/offboarding, including account setup and permissions
  • Maintain a high level of responsiveness and communication with end users
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to plan and implement upgrades and expansions throughout the environment
  • Liaise with vendors and service providers for procurement, maintenance, and support of network equipment and services
