This role is responsible for maintaining and supporting core IT infrastructure, including servers, network connectivity, backup systems, and end-user computing. The IT Systems and Infrastructure Administrator will maintain and support physical and virtual server environments, monitor system performance, capacity, and availability, and implement measures to proactively address issues before they impact operations. They will perform routine maintenance including patching, updates, and system health checks, and support the server life-cycle, including provisioning, decommissioning, and documentation of configurations. Additionally, this role will manage and monitor backup systems to ensure successful and reliable data protection, respond to and resolve backup failures in a timely manner, and contribute to disaster recovery planning and execution. The administrator will also configure, maintain, and troubleshoot established network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points, and with vendor support, implement network upgrades and updates as needed. They will diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues across office and production environments, collaborate with external vendors or internal teams on escalated network issues, and assist in maintaining network documentation and diagrams. Providing technical support to end-users by diagnosing and resolving hardware and software problems, responding to help desk requests, and ensuring timely resolution of issues are also key responsibilities. The role involves assisting users with network access, account creation, and password resets, providing day-to-day support for desktops, laptops, and standard business applications, and troubleshooting hardware, software, and access issues for office and production users. Support for user onboarding/offboarding, including account setup and permissions, is also required. The position involves evaluating and recommending new technologies and solutions, collaborating with vendors and internal stakeholders to plan and implement upgrades and expansions, and liaising with vendors and service providers for procurement, maintenance, and support of network equipment and services, managing vendor relationships and contracts.
