About The Position

The IT Systems Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the organization's IT infrastructure. This position is responsible for managing and maintaining core systems including Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, and network security components such as firewalls. The role involves continuous monitoring, troubleshooting, and upgrading of systems to support business operations and safeguard data. The IT Systems Administrator collaborates with various departments to implement security policies and maintain asset inventories, ensuring compliance with organizational standards. Ultimately, this role ensures that all IT systems operate seamlessly to support the organization's productivity and security objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience managing Microsoft Exchange environments and Active Directory.
• Strong knowledge of network administration including firewall configuration and management.
• Experience with system administration tasks on Windows-based servers and workstations.
• Familiarity with security policies and best practices in IT infrastructure management.
• Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory are essential for managing user accounts, email systems, and permissions on a daily basis.
• Network administration and firewall expertise are critical for securing the organization's network perimeter and ensuring reliable connectivity.
• System administration skills enable the candidate to maintain server health, perform updates, and troubleshoot issues efficiently.
• Knowledge of SMTP protocols supports the management of email flow and security.
• Understanding security policies and asset inventory management helps the administrator enforce compliance and maintain accurate records, contributing to the overall security posture and operational efficiency of the IT environment.

Nice To Haves

• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, CompTIA Security+, or Cisco CCNA.
• Experience with asset inventory management tools and IT service management (ITSM) platforms.
• Knowledge of scripting or automation tools to streamline administrative tasks.
• Experience working in a regulated industry with compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure and hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Microsoft Exchange servers to ensure reliable email communication.
• Administer and monitor network infrastructure including firewalls and routers to protect against unauthorized access and threats.
• Perform system administration tasks such as user account management, permissions, and Active Directory maintenance.
• Implement and enforce security policies to safeguard organizational data and IT assets.
• Maintain accurate asset inventory records and coordinate hardware and software upgrades or replacements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system, network, and application issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with IT team members and other departments to support technology needs and projects.
• Monitor SMTP services and ensure proper email flow and security.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and changes to maintain operational continuity.
