Reporting to the IT Systems Manager, the IT Systems Administrator is a key member of the Information Technology team. The IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our network, as well as planning and implementing new projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of network infrastructure, system administration, and security.

Requirements

  • 2 years network and system administration experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office administrative product suite, Active Directory, Windows Server, and various LAN/WAN technologies
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other networking protocols
  • Experience with security tools and techniques
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, continuously evolving, and at times ambiguous environment
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Flexible and quickly adaptable to changing priorities
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to present information in a manner that can be understood by non-technical staff
  • Must be able to stand, walk, climb stairs, lift, and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • 4 years network and system administration experience
  • Advanced degree or certification
  • Proficiency with SIP telephony, VMware deployment and administration, Linux, and modern security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or NERC-CIP

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software
  • Troubleshoot network issues, including network connectivity issues, network security issues, and network performance issues
  • Administer, oversee, and audit user access controls and permissions
  • Implement security measures to protect the network
  • Monitor network performance, including bandwidth usage, latency, and CPU utilization
  • Plan and implement network upgrades
  • Provide technical support to system users
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on company computers as needed
  • Keep up to date with new technologies and suggest improvements to network and infrastructure
  • Perform other duties as assigned
