We’re hiring a IT Systems Administrator at our Corporate Headquarters in Columbia, MO, and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction. The IT Systems Administrator serves as a technical escalation point for complex issues originating from the IT Support organization and other internal technology teams. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded infrastructure professional who can navigate EquipmentShare's diverse technology stack, troubleshoot across multiple platforms, and independently drive issues to resolution. This position requires someone who is comfortable working across endpoint management, identity and access management, cloud platforms, operating systems, and networking while collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain a secure, reliable, and scalable IT environment.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles and security best practices.
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory, authentication, SSO, MFA, and endpoint management.
  • Solid networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, wireless networking, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience documenting technical processes and maintaining accurate system documentation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across Slack, email, and virtual meetings.
  • Comfortable collaborating with distributed teams across multiple departments.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate issues.
  • Adaptable and eager to learn new technologies in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Customer-service oriented with a focus on delivering an exceptional internal support experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • High School degree or equivalent required
  • At least 3 years of experience in Systems Administration, Infrastructure Administration, or a similar IT role.
  • Experience supporting enterprise Windows and macOS environments.
  • Experience administering Microsoft Intune and/or Jamf.
  • Experience supporting cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Azure.
  • Experience administering Okta and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Occasionally lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills, preferred
  • Experience supporting Linux systems, preferred
  • Experience with scripting or automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar), preferred
  • Experience with MDM, endpoint security, and compliance tools, preferred
  • Familiarity with enterprise SaaS administration and cloud identity platforms, preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred
  • Preferred certifications such as: Microsoft Certified Administrator, Jamf Certified Associate or Professional, Okta Certified Administrator, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Certification, CompTIA Network+ or Security+
  • May require occasional travel to company offices or project sites.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for advanced technical issues from the IT Support team.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, endpoint, identity, and cloud-related issues.
  • Administer and support enterprise endpoint management platforms including Microsoft Intune and Jamf.
  • Support identity and access management through Okta, Google Workspace, and related authentication technologies.
  • Assist with provisioning, deprovisioning, and troubleshooting user accounts, devices, and permissions while following IAM best practices.
  • Support cloud-based infrastructure and services across platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and other enterprise cloud environments.
  • Troubleshoot Windows, macOS, and Linux operating system issues across both end-user and server environments.
  • Assist with networking troubleshooting involving DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing, switching, Wi-Fi, and connectivity issues.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Security, Networking, and IT Support teams to resolve cross-functional incidents.
  • Document technical procedures, create knowledge base articles, and improve operational workflows.
  • Participate in infrastructure projects, migrations, system upgrades, and technology rollouts.
  • Maintain security best practices and assist with compliance initiatives where applicable.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation or after-hours support as required.
