The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining a reliable, secure and efficient data communications network. This role involves expert-level management of desktop and server environments, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Microsoft Server, desktop computers, and peripherals. The administrator will also design, develop, and implement systems policies and procedures, identify and resolve problematic areas, and maintain Windows workstations across all locations. Software updates, including antivirus and office suites, are a key responsibility. The position requires monitoring the Helpdesk and assisting users with their IT issues. A significant part of the role involves expert systems management, including maintaining systems, security access, account management, and troubleshooting/implementing Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policies, third-party application security, DHCP, DNS, VPN devices, antivirus, and wireless, WAN, and LAN equipment. Occasional wiring and ensuring data security, network access, and backup systems are also critical. The administrator will determine methods for upgrading company network software, monitor and maintain system logs for performance and security, manage email accounts, and submit users for VPN and network access. Troubleshooting internal and external network issues is also a core duty. Additionally, the role requires expertise in ordering, configuring, maintaining, and inventorying all IT equipment, including assets tracking, cell phones, AV equipment, managing the office phone system, and maintaining digital signage. Industry-specific tasks include upkeep of POS systems, Accounting Applications, IGT Applications, and Compliance and Regulatory Reporting Applications.
