About The Position

The Systems Administrator is responsible for administering, maintaining, and supporting Beehive Industries’ enterprise infrastructure, including Microsoft Azure GCC High environments, Linux systems, databases, and High Performance Computing (HPC) resources. This role applies technical expertise to ensure secure, reliable, and compliant IT operations supporting aerospace engineering and manufacturing environments. The Systems Administrator works independently on infrastructure activities while partnering with IT, Cybersecurity, Engineering, and Operations teams to improve system performance, availability, and security.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Administration, or related field preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience may be considered
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related systems administration, cloud administration, or infrastructure experience; or equivalent work experience
  • Experience supporting enterprise IT environments, cloud platforms, Linux systems, and databases preferred
  • Experience supporting regulated environments such as aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or government contracting preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure administration, including virtual machines, networking, storage, and identity services
  • Experience administering Linux operating systems such as Red Hat, CentOS, or Ubuntu
  • Experience supporting SQL databases, including Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
  • Understanding of HPC environments, cluster computing concepts, and job scheduling systems such as Slurm, PBS, or LSF
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including system hardening, vulnerability management, access controls, and patch management
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks including ITAR, DFARS, NIST 800-171, and CMMC
  • Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure issues and perform root cause analysis
  • Experience with scripting or automation using tools such as PowerShell, Ansible, or Terraform
  • Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft Azure certifications or government cloud experience, including Azure GCC High
  • Experience administering DoD or government-compliant cloud environments
  • Experience managing HPC clusters, engineering computing environments, or simulation workloads
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
  • Experience developing infrastructure automation using PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools
  • Familiarity with MES, ERP, or PLM integrations within manufacturing environments
  • Experience supporting Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) environments
  • Active DoD security clearance or prior experience working in cleared environments
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing organizations

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Microsoft Azure GCC High infrastructure, including virtual machines, networking, storage, identity services, and system configurations
  • Monitor system performance, apply patches, and maintain security configurations to support ITAR, DFARS, NIST 800-171, and CMMC compliance requirements
  • Manage Linux servers, including user administration, system updates, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
  • Support HPC environments by managing user accounts, job scheduling, resource allocation, and system availability for engineering and manufacturing workloads
  • Administer SQL databases, including Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and/or MySQL, performing backups, maintenance, monitoring, and optimization
  • Implement and maintain security controls, system hardening practices, and vulnerability remediation activities
  • Provide tier 2 and tier 3 support for Windows, Linux, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise systems
  • Assist with infrastructure upgrades, migrations, configuration changes, and technology improvements
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, system procedures, configurations, and compliance evidence
  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity, IT, Engineering, and Operations teams to support secure and scalable infrastructure solutions
  • Troubleshoot complex system issues and identify opportunities to improve reliability and performance
  • Perform other duties as assigned
