About The Position

Renewal by Andersen, the replacement division of Andersen Corporation, operated by the Dunn Group in British Columbia, is seeking an IT Systems Administrator. This is a high-impact, in-office role based in Vancouver, BC, focused on building, improving, securing, optimizing, and modernizing the technology infrastructure to support rapid organizational growth. This is not a help desk role; it's an infrastructure position for a professional who enjoys ownership, solving complex technical challenges, and enabling business scale. The IT Systems Administrator will be a key technical resource responsible for maintaining and evolving the IT environment, including servers, networking, Microsoft 365, virtualization, cybersecurity, and cloud systems. The role involves working closely with leadership and operational teams to ensure the technology environment is stable, secure, efficient, and built for growth, with a focus on modernizing systems, driving IT projects, strengthening cybersecurity, supporting users, and creating scalable systems.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in Systems Administration or Infrastructure Support
  • Strong experience with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022)
  • Strong experience with Active Directory & Group Policy
  • Strong experience with Microsoft 365 Administration
  • Strong experience with VMware or Hyper-V
  • Strong experience with Networking infrastructure and firewalls
  • Strong understanding of VPNs, VLANs, routing, and wireless networking
  • Strong understanding of Backup and disaster recovery systems
  • Strong understanding of IT security best practices
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage projects independently and execute with minimal oversight
  • Strong documentation and organizational discipline
  • Excellent communication and professionalism
  • Takes ownership
  • Proactively improves systems, identifies risks before they become outages, and builds infrastructure properly

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and virtualization platforms
  • Manage Microsoft 365 including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Intune
  • Oversee VMware/Hyper-V environments and server infrastructure
  • Ensure system reliability, uptime, and performance across the organization
  • Manage firewalls, switches, VLANs, VPN connectivity, and wireless infrastructure
  • Support cybersecurity initiatives including patch management, endpoint protection, vulnerability remediation, and access control
  • Strengthen backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes
  • Proactively identify risks and implement preventative solutions
  • Lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations, deployments, and technology rollouts
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies that improve scalability and operational efficiency
  • Create documentation, SOPs, diagrams, and technical runbooks
  • Help drive automation and process improvement initiatives
  • Act as a Tier 2/3 escalation point for technical issues
  • Mentor junior IT team members and help elevate technical standards
  • Partner with departments across the business to understand operational needs and deliver effective solutions
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
