The role is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting and support of critical banking system processes, the administration of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), server infrastructure, peripheral systems and software applications, as well as related security maintenance patching. This role is also responsible for managing, administering, modifying, maintaining, repairing, and documenting various organization operating and support systems. The IT Systems Administrator II ensures the stability, security, and reliability of all servers, systems, and network infrastructure, while assisting with the development and implementation of various IT projects, and aligning IT strategies with the goals of the banking organizations. This position can be located in Sioux Falls or Pierre, SD.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in system administration and network operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of data backup and recovery techniques and tools.
  • Strong technical skills in server and network infrastructure including, but not limited to, Microsoft Operating Systems, UNIX, Linux, Unisys, MCP, Fiserv Applications, and other proprietary banking platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the stability, security, and reliability of all servers, systems, and network infrastructure.
  • Manages critical FiServ banking processes, including updates and patches.
  • Implements changes to the Bank’s systems, taking into consideration user needs, security, complex system requirements, and ensuring these changes minimize systems downtime.
  • Performs system and network administration tasks, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, switches, firewalls, and other hardware and software.
  • Independently troubleshoots system issues and makes changes to resolve issues, following defined policy.
  • Monitors system performance and responds to alerts and incidents in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Implements and manages a data backup and recovery plan in the event of system failures or disasters.
  • Develops and maintains system documentation, policies and procedures, as well as performs common scheduled tasks.
  • Collaborates with other IT team members to plan and implement various IT projects, including software installations, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Participates in the development of IT security policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure the security of the data and systems.
  • Conducts audits, scans, and assessments of the systems and network infrastructure to identify and resolve security vulnerabilities and compliance risks, while proposing controls for mitigating risks to services or data.
  • Offers consultation and recommendations on potential enhancements, initiatives and projects.
  • Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future technology and solution needs.
  • Aids in the development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Provides knowledgeable support and guidance to end-users on hardware, software and network issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
