IT System and Security Administrator I

Mercantile BankWyoming, MI
Onsite

About The Position

As an IT System and Security Administrator I, you'll help ensure Mercantile Bank's technology remains reliable, secure, and ready to support our mission and community impact. Your day typically starts by reviewing overnight alerts, security dashboards, and patch/vulnerability queues to confirm systems are stable and risks are addressed. You'll coordinate change windows, validate backups, and document outcomes for audit-ready traceability. Throughout the day, you'll shift between project work-moving an initiative from design to rollout-and high-priority escalations that require careful troubleshooting and clear communication. You'll spend focused time in the Microsoft ecosystem (Entra ID and Defender) checking identity signals, access governance tasks, and email security posture, then collaborate with Information Security to align remediation steps with policy. Expect regular touchpoints with IT leadership and vendors to keep deliverables on track. You'll also coach teammates, helping build shared capability so the organization can sustain secure, dependable operations that make a difference for customers and the communities we serve.
