About The Position

The Addison Public Library is looking for someone to join our team as an IT System Administrator to perform day-to-day management of the library’s client devices, servers, and computer network. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills, with analytical problem-solving abilities; is service oriented, capable of adapting to a fast-paced work environment; is a team player, willing to collaborate, share, and train. They can expect to spend approximately 70% of work time on managing client devices and responding to IT tickets. They also assume system management responsibilities, with plenty of opportunities to select and implement a variety of new technologies.

Requirements

  • Intermediate-level knowledge of computer networks, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, group policy, Windows operating system, VMware, and MS 365 Administration.
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of data backup and recovery.
  • Intermediate-level experience installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • A bachelor’s degree, or five years of work experience, in computer or information science is required.
  • Available for IT network/system deployment, maintenance, and emergencies during evening and weekend hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of (or considerable progress in) A+ and Network+ Certification is preferred.
