About The Position

The IT System Administrator provides technical assistance and support to end users and is responsible for maintaining the company’s computer systems, servers, networks, hardware, software, and Microsoft 365 environment. This position analyzes user and business requirements, plans and implements technology solutions, troubleshoots technical issues, maintains documentation, and resolves hardware, network, and application problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of VB.NET and/or C# programming is preferred.
  • Previous IT experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot servers, computers, network equipment, printers, and other IT hardware.
  • Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, file shares, user accounts, permissions, and related systems.
  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including switches, wireless access points, firewalls, VPN connections, and network cabling.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, backups, security, and storage capacity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, application, database, and network-related issues.
  • Support Microsoft SQL Server databases, scheduled jobs, backups, permissions, and related applications.
  • Assist with debugging, enhancing, and maintaining existing applications written in VB6, VB.NET, and C#, as required.
  • Assist with application development and SQL programming when necessary.
  • Install, configure, update, and support business and manufacturing software.
  • Maintain system documentation, hardware and software inventories, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Help prepare standard operating procedures (SOPs) for company software and IT systems.
  • Evaluate, purchase, configure, and deploy IT hardware and software.
  • Coordinate with users, vendors, and other IT personnel to resolve technical issues and implement technology projects.
  • Provide end-user training and technical support.
  • Follow company cybersecurity, data-protection, backup, and disaster-recovery procedures.
  • Provide after-hours or emergency support when necessary.
