About The Position

This role is responsible for providing IT support as directed by the CIO. The technician will oversee and manage all IT and communication-related systems, including PCs and associated software. Key responsibilities include PC installation, repair, peripheral setup, networking up to the router, hardware repair/replacement, and software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. The position also involves hardware testing, virus and spyware detection/removal, software optimization, security-related installations, and basic Windows server management. The technician will identify issues, coordinate with the IT manager and department heads, provide user training on applications, perform preventative maintenance, and resolve computer issues (hardware, software, peripheral, operational) in person, via phone, or remotely. Administrative functions like password resets and PC initialization are also part of the role, along with basic Microsoft O365 and Azure management, and monitoring the mail filter. The technician will perform other requests and directives as assigned by the CIO or management.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of networking.
  • Ability to train and work with end users.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with O365.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage projects, track progress, and work with deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Associates Degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Related job experience may be substituted for a degree.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight and management of all IT and communication related systems, including PCs and associated software.
  • Performing PC installation, repair, peripheral setup, networking up to the router, hardware repair/replacement, and software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Performing hardware testing, virus detection and removal, spyware detection and removal, and software optimization.
  • Coordination of security related installations, repair, and maintenance.
  • Installing new PCs including necessary software installations and updates.
  • Performing basic Windows server management.
  • Identifying issues and coordinating with IT manager and/or department heads.
  • Providing training on user applications.
  • Performing preventative maintenance and optimization on PCs and software.
  • Resolving computer issues (hardware, software, peripheral, operation, etc.) in person, via phone, or remotely.
  • Performing administrative functions such as password resets and PC initialization.
  • Basic Microsoft products including O365 and Azure management.
  • Monitoring the mail filter.
  • Performing other requests and directives as directed by the CIO.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management with or without reasonable accommodation.
