About The Position

This role is for an IT Support Technician responsible for maintaining technology across a corporate office, convenience stores, a fuel transport company, and dealer sites. The job involves hands-on troubleshooting of various systems including point-of-sale registers, fuel dispensers, firewalls, PCs, tablets, cameras, switches, phones, printers, and more. While the role initially requires significant travel to various locations, the ideal candidate will proactively identify root causes of issues, implement solutions like remote management and automation, and ultimately reduce the need for field visits. The focus is on improving customer experience by ensuring technology functions seamlessly, and the technician is expected to contribute to broader IT initiatives and infrastructure improvements.

Requirements

  • Experience in IT support or a related technical field.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to various company locations.
  • Ability to work on ladders, kneel, and crouch in tight spaces.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, and Azure.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi).
  • Experience with ERP systems and databases (SQL).
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Resourcefulness in finding solutions to unfamiliar problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical staff.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • A demonstrated curiosity and passion for technology, evidenced by personal projects or self-taught skills.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and solving problems at their root cause.
  • Willingness to perform tasks outside of traditional IT duties to support the business and customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Drive to locations to troubleshoot and repair technology issues.
  • Work on ladders and in tight spaces (e.g., behind registers, under equipment).
  • Identify root causes of recurring technical problems and implement permanent solutions.
  • Implement remote management solutions (e.g., KVM) to reduce travel.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and checks.
  • Build, script, and design new IT solutions.
  • Respond to system alarms and dispatch work orders.
  • Administer and manage Windows and Linux servers.
  • Manage Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, and Azure environments.
  • Work with ERP systems, SQL, Power BI, and Microsoft Fabric for data analysis.
  • Maintain PCs, tablets, firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi, VoIP, ISP circuits, cameras, and fuel dispensers.
  • Contribute to cybersecurity efforts by identifying vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and implement AI solutions for process automation.
  • Design and build improved server and network infrastructure.
  • Assist with tasks outside of a defined IT role, such as jumping on a register or picking up trash, to ensure customer experience.
  • Communicate effectively with store staff and resolve issues without making them feel inadequate.
  • Troubleshoot old and duct-taped technology.
  • Perform hardware swaps and cable management.
  • Participate in occasional after-hours and on-call support.
  • Travel regularly to company locations across Tennessee.
